Payments platform Decta explores stablecoin-enabled treasury settlement

By Diego Whitfield · · 2 min read

Decta, a global payments processing firm, is moving to integrate stablecoins into its treasury operations, announcing plans to use USDC for international settlement in a bid to speed up cross-border transfers and tighten liquidity management.

A Push Toward Faster Settlement

Decta said it will tap OpenPayd's infrastructure to enable stablecoin-based treasury settlement, allowing the company to move funds internationally with greater speed than traditional banking rails typically permit. The initiative centers on USDC, a dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by Circle, which the firm intends to use for shifting value between jurisdictions.

Traditional international settlement can be slowed by banking hours, correspondent networks, and multi-day clearing windows. By routing treasury flows through a stablecoin, Decta aims to reduce those frictions and gain near-continuous access to funds regardless of time zones or weekends.

Stablecoins are increasingly moving from crypto niche to the plumbing of mainstream corporate finance.

Efficiency in Liquidity Management

Beyond raw speed, the arrangement is designed to improve how Decta manages liquidity across its operations. Holding and transferring value in USDC could give the company more flexibility in positioning funds where they are needed, cutting down on idle capital and reducing the delays associated with pre-funding accounts in multiple currencies.

OpenPayd, which provides embedded finance and payments infrastructure, supplies the underlying rails that connect Decta's traditional operations with stablecoin settlement. The partnership reflects a broader trend of payment companies weaving digital assets into back-office processes rather than consumer-facing products.

Key elements of the move include:

  • Use of USDC for international treasury settlement
  • Reliance on OpenPayd's infrastructure to bridge fiat and stablecoin flows
  • A focus on faster transfers and more efficient liquidity management

The development adds to a growing list of financial and payment firms testing stablecoins as a settlement layer, signaling continued mainstream interest in the technology for practical treasury use cases.
