Solana Treasury Firm DeFi Dev Corp Rolls Out $300M CHAD to Buy More SOL

By Diego Whitfield · · 2 min read

DeFi Development Corp has launched a $300 million at-the-market program for its CHAD preferred stock, doubling down on its strategy to accumulate more Solana as the treasury company continues an aggressive stretch of fundraising activity.

Expanding the SOL Stockpile

The Nasdaq-listed firm disclosed that it recently added another 55,491 SOL to its holdings, deepening its position in the token it has built its corporate identity around. The purchase reflects the company's core thesis of using public markets to fund ongoing accumulation of Solana.

DeFi Development Corp has emerged as one of the most prominent corporate holders of SOL, mirroring the playbook popularized by Bitcoin treasury firms but focused squarely on Solana. Each new acquisition is meant to boost the amount of the asset backing each share.

The firm is betting that Wall Street's appetite for crypto exposure can keep fueling its Solana buying spree.

A Rapid-Fire Capital Push

The newly opened CHAD at-the-market offering allows the company to sell its preferred stock incrementally into the market, raising capital that can be deployed into additional token purchases. The vehicle gives the firm flexibility to tap investors as conditions allow.

The move caps a busy three-week window of capital markets maneuvering, during which the company has repeatedly returned to investors to finance its growth. That cadence underscores how quickly the treasury model can scale when demand holds up.

Key elements of the latest activity include:

  • A $300 million at-the-market program tied to CHAD preferred stock
  • An additional 55,491 SOL added to the balance sheet
  • A compressed three-week period of fundraising moves

For the company, the strategy hinges on a simple loop: raise funds, buy Solana, and grow the per-share value of its holdings. Whether that flywheel keeps spinning will depend heavily on both investor enthusiasm and the price trajectory of SOL itself.
