Robot maker Unitree is going public. Hyperliquid traders see 4x upside from IPO price

By Diego Whitfield · · 2 min read

Chinese robotics firm Unitree is preparing for its stock market debut, and traders on the decentralized exchange Hyperliquid are already betting the company will be worth far more than its expected initial public offering valuation, according to analysts at blockchain data firm Allium.

Traders Bet Big on Unitree

Speculators trading pre-IPO derivatives on Hyperliquid are pricing Unitree at close to $38 billion, roughly four times the estimated $9 billion valuation tied to its IPO. The gap reflects intense enthusiasm around the robot maker, whose products have drawn attention across the humanoid and quadruped robotics markets.

The pre-listing wagers allow traders to speculate on where Unitree's shares might trade once the company officially goes public. But the wide divergence between the market's implied value and the IPO figure has raised questions about how sustainable those expectations really are.

A fourfold premium over the IPO price leaves leveraged bets dangerously exposed once real trading begins.

Leverage Raises the Stakes

Allium analysts warned that heavily leveraged positions could face sharp losses when Unitree's stock actually starts trading. If the opening price lands closer to the IPO valuation than the lofty figure implied on Hyperliquid, traders holding leveraged long positions could be caught off guard.

The situation highlights the risks embedded in speculative pre-IPO markets, where excitement can push valuations well beyond fundamentals. Because these bets are amplified by leverage, even modest moves against traders can trigger outsized liquidations.

Key points from the analysis include:

  • Hyperliquid traders value Unitree near $38 billion
  • The IPO valuation is estimated at roughly $9 billion
  • Leveraged positions are vulnerable to a repricing at launch

For now, the pre-IPO market signals strong conviction in Unitree's growth story. Whether that optimism holds up when shares hit the open market remains the central question for traders positioning ahead of the debut.
