CME Expands Crypto Futures Lineup With Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap

By Priya Chen · · 1 min read

CME Group is broadening its cryptocurrency derivatives offerings once again, this time introducing futures contracts tied to Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap. The move continues the exchange operator's steady push into altcoin markets as institutional demand for regulated crypto exposure grows.

New Contracts on the Way

CME plans to roll out both standard and micro-sized futures for Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI). The dual format gives traders flexibility, with larger contracts aimed at institutions and smaller micro versions designed for participants seeking reduced capital commitments and finer control over position sizing.

The addition of BCH and UNI reflects a deliberate strategy of expanding beyond flagship assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum. By offering regulated futures on a widening slate of tokens, CME is positioning itself to capture demand from firms that want structured, exchange-traded access to a broader crypto landscape.

Regulated derivatives are becoming the on-ramp of choice for institutions wary of holding tokens directly.

Part of a Broader Rollout

The latest listings extend a pattern the exchange has followed throughout its recent altcoin expansion. CME has already launched or announced futures products covering several other digital assets, building out a lineup that stretches well past the top two cryptocurrencies.

Assets already featured in CME's growing suite include:

  • Cardano (ADA)
  • Chainlink (LINK)
  • Stellar (XLM)
  • Avalanche (AVAX)
  • Sui (SUI)

The steady cadence of new listings underscores how traditional finance venues are racing to meet appetite for crypto exposure through familiar, regulated instruments. For CME, each new contract adds to a derivatives franchise that increasingly mirrors the diversity of the underlying spot market, giving professional traders more tools to hedge and speculate across the sector.
