Bitmine adds $19.6M in ETH, repurchases 4.5M shares

By Diego Whitfield · · 1 min read

Bitmine Immersion Technologies has expanded its Ethereum holdings with a fresh purchase of roughly $19.6 million worth of ETH, while simultaneously buying back millions of its own shares as the company presses toward its ambitious accumulation goal.

Deepening Its Ethereum Position

The company acquired 10,399 ETH in its latest move, adding to a treasury strategy that has made it one of the most aggressive corporate holders of the second-largest cryptocurrency. Bitmine now controls approximately 4.8% of Ether's circulating supply, inching closer to its publicly stated target of 5%.

The purchase underscores a broader trend of publicly traded firms treating Ethereum as a core reserve asset, mirroring the Bitcoin treasury playbook popularized by other companies. For Bitmine, ETH has become the centerpiece of its long-term financial positioning.

Bitmine is racing toward owning 5% of all Ether in circulation — a stake that would place it among the largest corporate holders in the market.

Share Buybacks Signal Confidence

Alongside the crypto acquisition, Bitmine repurchased 4.5 million of its own shares. Buybacks of this scale are often interpreted as a signal that management views the stock as undervalued and is confident in the company's direction.

The dual strategy of accumulating ETH while reducing outstanding share count reflects an effort to concentrate value for existing shareholders. It also ties the firm's equity performance more tightly to the movements of Ethereum.

Key figures from the latest disclosure include:

  • About $19.6 million in new ETH purchases
  • 10,399 ETH added to the treasury
  • 4.5 million shares repurchased
  • Roughly 4.8% of Ether's circulating supply now held

As Bitmine continues to build its position, market watchers will be tracking whether the company can reach its 5% milestone and how its concentrated exposure to Ethereum plays out amid ongoing crypto market volatility.
