Binance bStocks passes xStocks as second-largest tokenized stock issuer

By Diego Whitfield · · 1 min read

Binance's tokenized equities product, bStocks, has climbed to become the second-largest tokenized stock issuer in the market less than two months after its debut, edging past Kraken-backed xStocks in the process.

A Rapid Ascent

Binance rolled out bStocks in early autumn, and the product has quickly gathered momentum in a sector that lets users trade blockchain-based versions of traditional shares. The speed of its rise underscores the appetite among crypto users for exposure to equities without leaving the digital asset ecosystem.

The offering narrowly overtook xStocks, the tokenized stock platform associated with Kraken, to claim the number-two spot. The tight margin between the two products signals how competitive the emerging category has become.

A latecomer has vaulted into second place in less than eight weeks, reshaping the tokenized equities pecking order.

The Tokenized Stock Race

Tokenized stocks aim to bridge conventional financial markets and blockchain rails, giving traders round-the-clock access to equity exposure through tokens that track real-world share prices. The category has drawn growing interest from major exchanges seeking to expand beyond core crypto trading.

Binance's swift climb reflects both its large existing user base and the broader push by crypto platforms to diversify their product lineups. As more issuers enter the space, competition for market share is intensifying.

Key dynamics shaping the sector include:

  • Established exchanges leveraging existing users to scale new products quickly
  • A tight race for the leading positions among issuers
  • Rising demand for equity exposure within crypto-native platforms

The coming months are likely to test whether Binance can sustain its momentum or push further up the rankings as rivals respond.
